The project is unique on a national level, as it received matching funds from the EU, the Hungarian Government and the local municipality. Finance comes from:

The householders raised their own contribution to the costs through individual property savings contracts - a mortgage-free loan for which there is state support - and the municipality underwrote 6% of the interest.  Hence on average the funding contribution from each flat was 450 000, which was reduced to 350 000 by funding support, which, counted over an 8 year repayment period means a monthly payment of 3-4 000 forints. The savings made on the district heating are guaranteed to be bigger than this.
